Delete your Bedside account

Two ways to delete your account: from inside the app (fastest), or by emailing us if you no longer have access to the app.
Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted, your profile, circle, and vigil event history cannot be recovered. Your one-time $4.99 purchase is associated with your Apple ID and can be restored on a new account by tapping Restore Purchase in the app, subject to the original six-month term.
Option 1: From inside the app (fastest)
- Open Bedside on your iPhone.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. The app calls our account-deletion Cloud Function and signs you out.
This removes your user profile, your circle (including all Receiver contact information you added), your vigil event timestamps, your push notification tokens, and your Firebase Authentication record. The deletion is completed within 30 days; most data is removed within minutes.
Option 2: By email (if you can't access the app)
Email admin@chemmoholdings.com with the subject line "Delete my Bedside account". Include:
- The email address you used to sign up.
- (Optional) The approximate date you created the account, to help us locate it if your email isn't unique.
We will verify the request, delete the account, and confirm by reply within 30 days. For most accounts, we complete the deletion within one to three business days.
What is deleted
- Your user profile (name, email, password hash).
- Your circle (all Receiver names, phone numbers, email addresses).
- Your vigil event history (timestamps of alerts and updates you triggered).
- Your push notification tokens.
- Your Firebase Authentication record.
What is NOT deleted
- Your Apple App Store purchase receipt. Apple retains this regardless of whether you delete your Bedside account. This is how Restore Purchase works on a new account.
- SMS and email delivery logs at Twilio and SendGrid. These providers retain delivery logs for their own carrier-compliance obligations (typically 30 to 90 days). We have no control over these records.
- Server-side error logs. We retain anonymized technical error logs for short periods to diagnose issues. These do not contain personal information beyond what is necessary to debug a fault.
Receivers: how to be removed from someone else's circle
If you are receiving alerts from Bedside and want to be removed, you have three options:
- Reply STOP to any Bedside text message. This unsubscribes your number from all future Bedside texts.
- Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Bedside email.
- Ask the Sender who added you to remove you from their circle.
Or email us at the address below and we will remove your contact information from our systems on the Sender's behalf.
